Heavenly Hydration for Winter Wear and Tear

Winter can be so harsh on our hair, the wet, cold weather exposes our hair to all manner of damage, and, going from central heating to the outdoors while whipping on and off our hats dehydrates our locks into uncontrollable mops. It’s a tough time for glossy hair lovers!

So below I have selected some of my favourite haircare items to hydrate your hair and keep your glossy locks intact for the party season.

Fine Hair

It’s important to remember fine hair needs hydration too. Due to the delicate nature of finer hair strands, good moisture levels are essential to guarantee elasticity in the hair and prevent the hair becoming stiff and straw-like. Pureology Hydrate Sheer id designed to do just that, this weightless, colour protective kit will keep your strands featherlight, detangled, and with gorgeous shine. The protective nature of this kit will work to preserve your precious colour but is perfect for natural colour. It will also strengthen your hair to prevent breakage and reduce flyaways. A great gift for a loved one, or yourself, to keep fine hair looking healthy and cared for without weighing it down.

Add an Oil

Hair oil can sound a little scary, but it can also be your hair’s best friend. Except for people with excess natural oil production, cosmetic oil used in small or large quantities depending on the thickness and quantity of hair, can be transformative, protective, nourishing, shine revealing, and add movement and flow to your style. Alfaparf Semi di Lino Cristalli Liiquidi is a lovely option for all hair types and offers heat protection, is anti-humidity, and vegan friendly to name but a few accolades. And is a handbag hero for frizzy, rainy days we experience year-round in Ireland.

Lush Curls

With lockdown came a new approach to, and acceptance of, our natural hair types and textures, a sort of new appreciation for curls, waves, kinks, and coils. The image of loose curls tumbling around the face is almost always associated with a youthful, carefree energy and style. The soft curves and natural volume curls and waves create gently and favourably frame the face in a flattering way. However, after years of trying to beat them into submission often newly liberated ringlets and twirls can often be undefined and lacklustre. Bring back the spring and characterised shape to your curls with Kerastase Curl Manifesto Luxury Gift Set, most suited to parched, medium- thick hair types it is rich in Manuka Honey and ideal for deeply hydrating, defining, and adding serious shine to all types of curls. Restorative by nature, say goodbye to brittle, unmanageable texture and see in the new yeah with a lush and nourished bounce.

A Winter Oasis

For thicker hair types, straight, wavy or curly ELEVEN Hydrating Trio Gift Set is excellent for imparting moisture on the driest of hair types. These deeply nourishing hair products enrich your hair with moisture with each step, from cleanse to condition, to treatment. With a combined ingredients list including wheat protein, avocado oil, sweet almond oil, and Jojoba seed oil your hair will be simultaneously strengthened and hydrated, perfect for brittle and dry hair types.
