Dr Hauschka Skincare is a natural cosmetics brand manufactured by foundation-owned WALA Heilmittel GmbH, which has been manufacturing natural cosmetics for more than 50 years. It is well known to Dr. Hauschka that natural cosmetics are not just a passing trend, but rather a longstanding tradition that has been going for decades. It is estimated that more than 50 countries around the world are now importing Dr. Hauschka products.

Dr. Hauschka was founded in 1967 by chemist Rudolf Hauschka in Germany.  A holistic pharmaceutical company, WALA Heilmittel ("WALA"), was co-founded by Hauschka in 1935. Rudolf Steiner was a major influence on the company's concept, using holistic ingredients to create medicines. Hauschka was contacted in the early 1960s by esthetician Elisabeth Sigmund regarding her research into herbs used in skincare. The concept of Dr Hauschka was developed over the course of two years by Sigmund and Hauschka.
