How Environ works

The Environ range works as a step-up system so everyone, unless you are very oily/acne-prone or very sensitive will start on AVST 1 as your day and night moisturiser, with SPF over your AVST during the daytime. When you have used up 2 bottles of AVST 1 you will then move up to AVST2 and so on. 

By introducing selected products within the range there are 12 steps and as you work your way up through these steps the level of Vitamins A, C & E increases with each level so you are always progressing with your skincare and not just staying at the same level. The range also includes a full range of items to suit each skin concern and need.

How to use Environ for your skin type

You only have one skin and it is your first line of defence against the sun, the weather and all the elements we face daily. All skin is different and unique! Therefore different skin needs to be treated differently.

Skin can be categorised into four types; dry, oily, normal and combination. It can also be in between these categories and is therefore classed as combination skin.

No matter if you are targeting sensitive, dry, ageing, oily, blemish-prone skin or even pigmentation, a dose of Vitamin A could be the answer to achieving normal skin.

Environ was founded by Dr Des Fernades, a South African plastic surgeon. He and his team founded Environ which started in 1990 in South Africa. The company and products are based in South Africa. However, the products are available from stockists all over the world.

Does Environ contain retinol?

Environ does use concentrated amounts of retinol in its products. Retinol itself is specially derived from Vitamin A. Retinol is added to skin creams as it boosts the amount of collagen in your body.

Collagen is important for your skincare routine as it leaves the skin looking more full and plump. It helps in reducing wrinkles and lines, as well as improving skin tone.

Environ know that it is important to balance the amount of retinol in products as too much can lead to dry and flaky skin. However, in the right amount, retinol results in the skin looking more radiant and plump.

Environ retinol products such as their serums are recommended for those who have used the moisturiser but want the more powerful benefits of retinol. Our advice is to speak to a consultant before deciding on skincare products with higher retinol.

You can then start the 'step-up' process by increasing your retinol build-up, allowing your skin to gradually adjust to higher levels of retinol in your skincare products.

What are the active ingredients in Environ products?

Although Vitamin A is the main ingredient due to its positive effects on the skin, it does not work alone and Environ products contain other vitamins and ingredients to achieve outstanding results

Environ uses Vitamin A, C and E, as well as Antioxidants, Peptides, Sunscreens, Alpha and Beta hydroxy acids, Vitamin B3 and B5 Hyaluronic acid. This combination of ingredients results in improved skin.

Skin loses its amount of Vitamin A due to light exposure. It is important to replenish and replace the lost Vitamin A. The combination of ingredients in our moisturisers and serums leads to several benefits such as:
