Acne Prone Skin: Skincare Solution
Acne prone skin is caused by an imbalance of hormones which can affect both men and women of all age groups. It occurs when your hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. Signs of problematic skin includes whiteheads, blackheads and small or large tender lumpers under the skin. Depending on its severity, acne can cause emotional distress and scarring. The earlier you start your skincare journey the lower the risk of scarring.
Top of the range brands including Environ, Cerave, Inkey List, Murad, SkinCeuticals, Emma Hardie, Medik8 & Image Skincare are available to purchase at Millies.ie to manage any acne issues!
Edele, Senior Skincare Expert Tip
"Consistency beats harshness. When treating acne-prone skin, it’s tempting to overuse strong actives but this can lead to irritation and worsen breakouts. Instead, opt for a gentle, consistent routine with ingredients like salicylic acid to unclog pores, niacinamide to reduce inflammation, and a non-comedogenic moisturizer to keep the skin barrier healthy. And remember always remove your makeup thoroughly and never sleep in it!"
