Learn MoreHoliday Essentials
When you are heading of on your holidays you want to ensure that you have the correct necessities when it comes to skincare! Weather it be a staycation or jetting off to the sun, we want to help you pack the key products. Here is our guide to the best travel essentials you need to keep you looking fresh on your travels.
Face SPF
It is really important we choose a separate SPF for our face and body, the skin on our face is more delicate and sensitive to our body. Purchase a broad Spectrum to ensure protection against UV and UVB rays. If you are outdoors a lot you must reapply your SPF every two hours.
Cleanser
When choosing a cleanser to come on your travels, you want to ensure that it can be used to take of your makeup and is easy to use with cotton pads, face cloth etc. I find Elemis’s Micellar water just perfect. It suits all skin types and leaves skin squeaky clean! Can be used on eyes as a makeup remover. Just a couple of bumps into a cotton disc or onto a damp sponge. So convenient but really effective!
Face Mist
Its easy for your skin to dry out on holiday, but a face mist can help to keep it moisturised and replenished. It comes in useful for days by the pool, use on the plane/car and anytime you feel like a spray of hydration. Yonka’s Lotion PS Toner is more than just a mist, it’s a phyto aromatic healing water. This alcohol free mist rebalances, nourished and revitalises the skin. The perfect product to have when travelling.
We recommend: Yonka Lotion Toner PS/PNG
Overnight Treatment
Weather Your skin is dry because of being in the sun or because we have indulged in a little bit of alcohol, Hyaluronic Acid is going to be your hero ingredient on your travels so invest in a good form of it. H.A will work deep into the skin flooding your skin of hydration. A mask that can be left on over night is always a good product to bring when traveling. We recommend Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Masque, this contains high concentrations of H.A. and Vitamin B5, leaves skin feeling suppler and appearing smoother and is suitable for all skin types.
Body SPF
If it’s a staycation you are on, that does not mean skipping your body SPF. Skin still needs to be protected even if you are sunning yourself on the coast of Irelend. No Matter where you are UV rays are present all year round. If you are taking a flight to the sun then we recommend reapplying every 2 hours, if you are here in Ireland it really depends on your lifestyle and what you are up in that day. Tip: Don’t use too sparingly, make sure you have enough on your skin and everywhere is well covered.
SPF Lip Balm
SPF is so important on your lips, they have very thin skin and most of the time are overlooked when applying SPF. Lip sunscreen should contain two types of moisturising ingredients known as humectants and emollients. Humectants draw moisture into the top layers of your lips and emoliants lock the moistures into place, without them the moisture would evaporate and would leave your lips dry and chappy than they were before.
Body Oil
A body oil is always good to have when on holidays, may it be if trying to maintain your fake Tan, if you have got burnt in the sun (which we don’t recommend this) or skin just feels dehydrated. This oil is super hydrating and is enhanced with antioxidants such as rosehip. The Body oil is easily absorbed, skin feels firmer and smoother. This body oil is 100% organic and can be used for irritated skin.
Nail Polish
Even if you are planning on getting your nails done professionally before you jet off on your holiday/staycation, its worth having some nail polish on hand in case it chips or needs a top up.
Now you know the best skincare essentials for travelling , all you need now is a holiday!!
