Rosacea is a longterm inflammatory skin concern. It needs to be diagnosed by a GP or a dermatologist. It is mostly found in the cheeks, the nose and it can come up around the eye area, which is called ocular rosacea. Most prevalent in men, if left untreated, it can become a thickening of the skin, particularly around the nose area. Rosacea can also damage the skin barrier and lead to sensitivity and discomfort in the skin.
Symptoms of Rosacea include; heat in the skin, blushing around the cheeks, raised rash or texture on the skin and puss filled papules on the skin's surface.
Causes of Rosacea: While its not fully known what causes Rosacea, there are a few causes such as; Genetics, brought on by a mite in the skin, environmental stressors; extreme heat, extreme cold and overexposure to the sun with no protection, and aggressive active products not suitable for the skin type.
