A HELPING HAND BEFORE LABOUR
Your perineum attaches to your pelvic floor and sits between the opening of your back passage (anus) and your vagina. There can be some variability when it comes to boundaries and what is considered the perineum. Generally, the perineum region includes both the surface area skin which is external, and the interior made up of delicate tissue, nerves, blood vessels and small muscles. From weeks 34 in pregnancy (third trimester), mamas are advised to massage the exterior surface area skin of their perineum with an oil that is safe to use in this delicate area to help encourage skin flexibility and encourage it to stretch more easily during labour.

Directions for use:
Begin to use from 34 weeks of pregnancy, gently massaging into the skin around the perineal area. You only to apply the oil to your fingers that are massaging the skin of the perineum. As your vagina is naturally lubricated, the oil is not needed internally. Please refer to the guidance on how to do a perineal massage on our blog here or consult your midwife for more information.
